So, I may or may not have forgotten to update the Neocities on my dungeon adventures. Well, it's not that much of a big deal, since all I really did was grind. The one part of the story I did was the Smeargle part, which was just going through one dungeon. Smeargle's an interesting Pokemon because I've recently been watching a speedrun, and they kind of abuse the fact that Smeargle can have really any moveset it wants. Especially since mutli-hitting moves are kind of broken, and so they use Barrage to deal from 100-700 damage on a single Pokemon, depending on multiple factors. But most of the time it's a massive amount of damage. There was also a situation where I lost my X-Ray Specs and Friend Bow because I forgot an escape orb, but while going through Solar Cave to get my friend bow back I got not one, but two X-Ray Specs. So yeah, that worked out I guess!
Additionally, I'm planning to do Purity Forest. Google says the best Pokemon to bring is Ariados, but maybe I'll start messing around and maybe i'll make a guide for Pokemon to use in PMD DX's Purity Forest. I really don't have much to lose doing so, because, well, you don't get to bring anything except a Pokemon who's level is reset to 5. I thought it was 1, but I guess it got changed in DX!

You ever just suddenly lose motivation to do a certain thing you were doing previously a lot? Yeah. That's what happened here. Which turned into a 3 day break. Oops. Today I didn't have much motivation either: I tried to play and was having fun doing the Unown dungeon for loot and Unown recruitments, and did some online rescues (A handful of NPC teams and two actual teams), and then stopped playing. Did get some pretty good loot.

I beat the game! Whoo boy, Rayquaza was an absolute pushover with the setup I had. Having Ice Fang on Knight really helped. It was first try, surprisingly! I do realize I'm probably an outlier, as checking the online rescues there was like 20 people who seemingly died to Rayquaza. So, now I'm in the postgame. And this is where the fun begins, because I can get shinies. It did take a minute, because I had to get the one item that lets you do that, the friend bow. Now, here's the fun part: I had to get a second friend bow. Why? I was doing a post game dungeon and my friend bow got turned into an apple. Yep. So I go back to the dungeon your guaranteed to get a friend bow from. I accidentally forgot to bring an invitation, and I encountered a mystery house. Of course. Well, after getting the friend bow I had a very good setup for recruiting a shiny. Bamboo already had false swipe, so that was fine. I put Bamboo in the front of the party so that the friend bow would actually work, Phoebe has the friendly quality, and I also had an inviting orb. So I go into Mt. Thunder, encounter about 4 Dragonites, and then on the last floor I encounter it. Shiny Dragonite. However, having the Friend Bow and 3 different recruitment boosting things wasn't enough to get this dragon to come with me. So I stopped playing. I will get that shiny Dragonite. Oh, and Bamboo is a Scizor now!

Got platinum rank! They gave me some cool rewards for reaching the rank including 12 Sitrus berries, which increase max hp. Currently, Phoebe is at level 45, Knight is at 44, and Bamboo is at 43. Surprisingly, they aren't my highest level Pokemon. My highest level Pokemon... Is a Cascoon I haven't used once. And it's at level 53. Seriously, it's just been sitting in my camp getting tons of XP. Also experienced a random Munchlax event. I fed them a big apple and they gave me a belt in exchange that boosts sp. atk and atk but in exchange your belly decreases faster. That is such a weird sentece but it makes sense with the context of the game please understand. Thankfully, I didn't have any surprise attacks from unrecruitable shinies, and I plan to go back into the Sky Tower to beat Rayquaza soon!

The grind for Platinum team rank continues, and in that grind I encountered a shiny Lickilicky. Awesome. I wish this game would stop giving me shinies because I literally can't recruit them at this point of the game. Anyways, I got a Dragonair (through wondermail) today, named them Airstream. Might grind them to become a team member, might not, especially because my third party member currently is a Scyther named Bamboo with the rare quality Riled Up, which just increases both your attack stat if you get hit. Pretty broken, unless you die in the process!

Today I made this page to keep track of things ingame, mostly because hey, I'm playing through the game and I've got a neocities. Why don't I just liveblog it or something? I'm already a little bit in, if not evident by the fact I've beaten the bird trio and Groudon. The game wants me to go beat Rayquaza now, which requires going through the Sky Tower. And it fucking sucks. Who decided to put so many monster houses in that goddamn tower? Why did they give seemingly all the Ledian in there Supersonic? Needless to say, that first run of the Sky Tower ended with me using an Escape Orb to get out of there, because I was not surviving that. I'll be doing some rescue missions and training before I do try that again, thanks.
Bosses beaten: Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, Groudon, Rayquaza
Unrecruitable/failed shiny encounters: 5 (2x Dragonite, Spinda, Lickilicky, Aipom)
